Whether it’s imperceptible phenomena, or impetuous and sudden changes, human beings have always asked themselves big questions, have collected, analyzed data and carried out tests, in order to understand the behavior of the elements that make up our planet.
Thanks to Foucault, we now know that the drawing left on the sand is not produced by the rotation of the pendulum, but by the Earth which rotates beneath it!
The plates that make up the earth’s crust settle down and give rise to earthquakes, waves and vibrations that can suddenly reach incredible intensities!
Due to earthquakes or submarine eruptions, the sudden movement of a large mass of water, from the seabed to the surface, creates an anomalous wave motion of the sea, capable of crossing entire oceans.
Mountains, hills, valleys, stretches of water: this is how three-dimensionality is represented on morphological maps. The simulation changes according to how the kinetic sand is arranged, resulting in different landscapes with lava-spewing volcanoes, fossils to unearth and information on the different species of dinosaurs.

The Pendulum moves according to its oscillation plane, which always remains the same even as time goes by. The design left on the sand is not produced by the rotation of the Pendulum, but by the rotation of the Earth which is turning underneath!
The Pendulum is attached to a joint which allows it to freely move and to maintain its oscillation plane regardless of the Earth’s rotation.
As time goes by, the oscillations decrease their amplitude because of friction.
